Self-empowerment guru Linda Howe offers inspired manifesting, tools for navigating a difficult era, new book

“Knowledge is power,” wrote Sir Francis Bacon, the English philosopher and scientist, in 1597. “Know thyself,” was one of the three maxims inscribed by the ancient Greeks in the Temple of Apollo at Delphi.
Those were simpler times. In an era of simultaneous pandemic, war, climate change, and political failure, how can we find a way to know ourselves better while harnessing the universe’s power of overall knowledge? Some people answer this question by turning to the Akashic Records. “Akasha” is a Sanskrit term meaning “life force.”
Theosophists, philosophers, and many people see the Akashic Records as a compendium of events and thoughts from the past and present in the mental plane. If a person can access the Akashic Records, he or she can heal past traumas while better preparing for the future.
Chicago native Linda Howe is one of the world’s foremost authorities on using the Akashic Records which, she said, “meet you exactly where you are and provide insight on exactly what you need to fulfill your soul’s purposes.”
She described the Akashic Records as, “an archive of our souls’ past, present, and future possibilities,” adding that her work “has been about how to make contact with them in a way that is helpful; to make practical use of this infinite spiritual resource.”
Howe noted that study of the Akashic Records is “not a religion and it’s not against any religion; it’s the underpinning of many religions. There are references to the Akashic Records mentioned in every major religion and there are different scriptural references where it can be found.”
After studying history at Mundelein College and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Howe performed corporate work in the go-go 1980s, but found herself increasingly interested in philosophy, religion, and the human psyche.
